I have a base '03 and the only cigarette lighter plug in is in the back of my seats in the middle section. Has anyone hardwired their radar detector in a way so that you dont have that rediculous cord hangin all the way through your cars **** pit area? If so, could you help a brother out on how you did yours? I have the wiring kit and the Passport 8500 X50. So, all I need is some help, if possible in this car, on how to do it. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks fellas.

I recently hardwired my V1. It uses standard phone cord (the flat kind) which can easily be routed from the back hatch opening all the way to the front by the fuse panel without having to remove any panels, etc. I used a 1" putty knife to lift the edges of the plastic trim and force the wires under it. The putty knife can also be used to push the wire into and between trim pieces and the rubber seals.

If your radar detector uses a regular power plug you can just chop the end off and stick in into the back of the rear view mirror if you have the home link or auto dimming mirror. You'l have to look around here to find out which spots to plug it in to. I did this and just used male prong connectors and chopped off one side and stuck it in there.

Has anyone installed the InvisiCord on a base (w/out homelink mirror)? Someone mentioned in a past post that the Base still has the connections for the homelink mirror stashed away. True?

Mine came with a clip. I've seen others use hangers to mount it directly to the rear view mirror. Only bad thing about mine is you can't lower the passenger vanity mirror down with it up there.

Here is a picture of what my mount looks like. It clamps to the mirror shaft and uses th original suction cup bracket less suction cups.
PM me for details. I have sold alot to forum members.
