Default 17" Lcd

I tried searching but couldn't find if anyone has fit a 17" screen into Z.

I have been planning a carputer build and was expecting to put a 7" in the cubby. However, last night my sister's laptop died so I will be the owner of a laptop with a shot MB. Basically its a free 17" LCD.

Any ideas of how or where i could fit it in the Z!

I was thinking of making an arm for it so it usually is under the dash in front of the passenger and could be flipped out when needed, but am worried about knees.

Wanting to put this in isn't def, just looking for ideas cause its free! And i can build the mechanical and electrical components at work for cheap.

17" .. thats a tough one.. you can always be the 1st on the board to do it...get the bragging rights.

You can check out mp3car.com but I am sure you would be the first. I don't think you would like the 17" experience, especially at night. It would be way too bright. The best part of the 7" and 8" widescreens is that they are touch screen. Your finger is the best input device. You simply cannot do that with your spare laptop screen.

the only logical place id ever do that would be like in the hatch for a picnic for something. i did an 8.4 and thats plenty for the dash.
