That's a nice idea.

One other thing. How can you tell the unit what you want displayed on the main unit versus what you want displayed on the second screen (i.e. Farenheit in cubby)?

Last question (I hope). There are plugs in the back of the unit for the supplied relay box harness. I can't find anywhere that it is explained what these are for.

Those are low voltage positve outputs. You can use these to trigger anything you want using a relay. They are like outputs on a alarm that let you triggger multiple things, except the outputs on an alarm are usually negative. It makes no difference since you are using the outputs to trigger a relay anyways. Just a few examples you can do with them. Pop the rear hatch, pop the gas tank door, operate neon lights, operate amp rack, etc.

That's pretty interesting. I wonder how much of a PITA it would be to hook it up to trigger the hatch.

It is actually quite easy. All you need is 1 regular Bosch relay.

How is it wired? Do you know the exact wire codes on the Z?

The wire is pink at the BCM in the Kick Panel. The way you wire it is as follows. The relay should have numbered spades on it, connect the following spades the the following connections.

85/Ground
86/Output from headunit
30/Ground
87/Pink wire
87A/Not connected

The Pink wire that you refer to is connected to the main ECU? It is solid pink? Does it need to be cut or just tapped onto?

It is solid pink at the BCM, not the ECU. It just has to be tapped into.

You just get the KCA-IP200 cable and you're good to go.

I don't think you can since the IP200 cable has two connectors on it that connect to the headunit.

At the BCM, there are three pink wires. There is one on each plug going into the BCM.

It will be the one on pin 30. You can also use a DMM to test the 3 pink wires. Which ever shows ground when you activate the rear hatch on the fob is the correct one.

In theory it will work, but these are the issues you will have. If you have any DRM files they will not play. The unit will not reconize it as an Ipod it will reconize it as a USB hard drive. Just get the KCA-IP200 it is only $20.00 and will save you the headaches.

Are you sure it is PIN 30? The FSM that I have shows 30 going to the driver's side and passenger side door actuator.

I show that pin 19 goes to the back door opener actuator.
