Garmin C340
I recently got a Garmin c340 GPS system shown here
http://http://www.garmin.com/products/sp340/
But, I am looking to get some ideas on how I should install it into my Z since I definately dont want to install it by sticking it to my window. I have the cubby where the gps system could be in the Z open so it could be put in there. But yeah, just looking for suggestions and ideas on how to put it into the Z.

But the only thing is that the thing it hooks into to stick it to the window has to be connected to it, its the only way it can charge, if your idea makes it a necessity for it to not be connected to this stupid little contraption that is luckily adjustable I would have to be able to easily remove it from wherever it is installed so i could hook it back up and charge it sometimes.
-to see what the thing it needs to be connected to looks like click on the product images in my link. Thanks for any ideas.

The reason nobody is responding is this: There is no “easy way” to install the Garmin c340 into the Z’s upper/forward cubby other than just using some Velcro sticky strips or a custom install (where you do surgery on Garmin’s mount for the c340). The c340 is designed to install on top of the dashboard.
The Garmin Nuvi models fit the upper/forward cubby space perfectly. To fit the Nuvi’s, you buy a different mount that has a shortened extension arm (available from Garmin).

I have the c340 as well, and found an easy way to mount it in the cubbyhole:
Unscrew the thumbwheel on the mounting arm and seperate the cradle from the arm (mine broke in this process). Now, connect the cradle to the unit and simply press it into the cubby. It will literally wedge itself into place. I know this sounds a little cheesy, but it really seems to work. It doesn't move around while driving at all, and very easy to remove. Not to mention, you can still plug in the charger and hide the wire.
Hope this helps!

The upper/forward cubby in the Z is just a great place to locate your transportable GPS (e.g., Garmin, Magellan, TomTom, ect.). Transportable devices fit this space very well. And, you can hardwire the device inside the upper/forward cubby while maintaining its removable advantage. That arrangement provides a custom look, the best view, functionality, and theft-protection. It’s just a great solution (and a Z advantage) when mounting transportable GPS devices.

I mounted my garmin in the cubby hole like this:

I think it turned out great, I just had to wait a couple of weeks for the smaller mount.
