Yes, but not one that would fit in a Z. You would have to have someone make you a box at an angle. My box costed 250 to have my 12L7 in my car. Gonna sell it soon to switch to 2 10's

Why would you buy a 12W7 and use a prefab box>? Might as well get something cheaper because you will not be getting the quality you are paying for.

because I had 2 of them in my last car, and spent 22k on my last stereo. Dont want to do that again, so I only want 1 in this car. Saves some weight, and will still hit hard. was looking to spend only a couple thousand on this stereo.

$22k and you only used 2 JL Audio 12" subs? If you were going that pimp daddy, I would have hoped you would have used more and/or better subs. Was it for SPL or SQ?

I'd love to know your setup that cost $22k......

a basic sqare custom mdf box weighs the same amount as a prefab box. It is still 3/4 mdf. I am just saying have someone build you a box to spec for that woofer. Its one of tghe best 5 woofers on the marker. If you expect it to sound like it then build it to the parameters. A basic square custom box will cost you no more than a 100 bucks carpeted.

He must’ve had it installed at Unique Autosport.

Equipment = $4,000
Labor = $18,000

Also remember that the 12W7 has a smaller mounting diameter the most subwoofers. So a prefab box might have problems with sealing.

If you are such a stereo guy why not pay a few extra dollars and get a good quality custom box to fit the car?

that was a couple years ago...also, had the carpet in the trunk removed, and added leather instead. Then a ton more tro the car...was a fun ride for a couple years (even though it was an automatic).

Some nice equipment, but $22,000????? Let's do the math here.

2 jl 12w7 - $1000
2 jl 1000/1 - $1100
2 jl 300/2 - $600
2 sets mb quart qsd series 6.5" seperates - $700
1 "the cap" 15 farad cap - $400
1 ohio generator 140amp (i believe) alternator - $500
2 optima batteries - $300
1 kenwood excellon 911dvd deck - $500 (?)
0 gauge wiring and so forth - $400 (including sound damping & wiring)
with a full custom enclosure done by innovative audio in washington - $16,500

That's an expensive custom install!!!!!

If he bought from a retailer and not online the prices could almost be double on some of the items with tax. However, for $22,000 I'd expected to see much higher end Equipment and a lot of monitors. The install looks great but $22,000 seems real steep!

also, remember, this was in 2002 or 2003...cant remember...prices were much higher at that time. It was when the w7's first came out, and that deck was still nice LOL (gave it to my brother after I stripped it from my car i hated it so much)

I've seen people buy used cars for $10,000 over what they could buy a new one for....to each his own.
