hooking up two 10" to one amp

Default hooking up two 10" to one amp

alright i dont know too much about sound stuff but i have a question on hooking up subs. the subs are pioneer 10" ones and are the dual voice coil ones. if i want to hook up two to a mono sub amp, can this be done? if so how?

What ohm are each voice coil and what ohm is your amp stable down to?

As StreetOC192 said above,,, depending on the ohm of voice coils and what Ohm your amp is stable down to,,,will be the deciding factor to best utilitze your equipment soundwise/power load. Let us know what you have.....

It can be done, but you need to look at what was said above, to use your system most efficiently

If the subs are dual 4 ohm voice coils, hook the voice coils up in series, then hook the two subs up to the amp in parallel. This will result in a 4 ohm mono load for the amp.

OK, that amp is 2ohm stable. You really need to know if your subs are the TS-W257D2 or TS-W257D2D4 to know how much power you will get from your amp. You will be wiring them the same way though either way.

D2 = dual 2 ohm voice coil
D4 = dual 4 ohm voice coil

If they are the TS-W257D2:
This diagram will yield you 360 watts to the subs.


If they are the TS-W257D4:
This diagram will yield you 250 watts to the subs.
