Default XK02 Interface Module

Quick question guys.. Im going to install a Compustar Pro system with all the bells and whistles (window roll up, trunk popper etc etc).

I DO NOT want a remote starter as i see it as more of a security problem.

But anywho.. Do i need a Bypass Module to do what i want? The shop is telling me i need an XK02 Interface. Is this really needed to integrate into the stock system?

Cheers lads.

The xk02 is more of a convenience than anything. It is used to use the keyless feature through the compustar via a one wire data connection inside of the vehicle. Its not necessary but if you dont get it you will have to run wires through the door boot and to the switch in the door for keyless entry. If you don't know what and xk02 interface is i might suggest you don't try installing the compustar your self, you may do more harm than good and end up spending more money in the long run on repairs if you burn something up. Electrical components are not cheap for this car. Not trying to be offensive just that i've been doing automotive electrical for about 8 years and i've seen and had to fix alot of " do it yourself'ers ".

No offense taken. your 100% right. Im not doing the install myself, i just like to buy and piece all my stuff together myself. Then give it too my shop that does my install.. I know they'd prefer to sell me my stuff but i like doing it this way. The research and buying is part of the fun for me.

Nice to see you have shop getting the job done. Depending on what they wanna charge you for the interface you may or may not wanna get it. I personally when doing nissans just run the wires into the door because I charge the same but keep the money in the form of labor instead of spending the extra money on the keyless interface. Both ways if done right are excellent solutions. Might wanna ask your installer what he prefers, making the installer happy is a good thing : ) trust me on that one.

Thats exaclty why i left that part out. I figure if he would prefer to use it he can sell me one from his store. If he doesnt, then i didnt buy it for no reason.

Win Win..
