Reasonable Aftermarket Alarm
Anyone got an opinion on an aftermarket alarm that I can get for $200-300. I don't need to spend $450-600 for a two way transmitter and all sorts of encryption options. I just want to add a shock/glass break sensor and either a tilt or proximity sensor, or at least a space to add it on later. If it could work with the factory system or at least the keyfob, that would be good too. I'm not really worried about the car going anywhere, I just don't want my stereo stuff or my wheels stolen.
alarms are useless in this day and age. I mean honestly, how many times do you stop what you are doing and run when you hear an alarm go off? Never. Why? No one cares.
Save your money and get lo-jack. There is no reason to get anything but.

My shop sales DEI alarms w/ 3 outputs, shock sensor, door, and trunk sensor, door locks, and dome light supervision for 199.00 installed w/ lifetime warranty on alarm, and labor. Other shops should be close to the same price. DEI is the best when it comes to security in my book. Ive seen 2 come back in 11yrs due to a bad alarm.
