Default Infinity Kappa 65.5i install help

Trying to install the Kappa's in the front. Got the 1" spacer to prevent it from hitting the glass. Problem I have now is how to mount it. The spacer has no holes or tabs to mount to the door. What kind of hardware do I need to install this.
Also, for the crossovers, do I just use double side tape and stick it to the door?

I think you mean Kappa 63.5i's. If so, I just got done installing mine yesterday. I was going to use spacers, but ended up tearing apart the stock Bose speakers and using the outer frame as a spacer. If you don't want to do this, you can either screw the spacer directly into the door or use pieces of mounting bracket to create little "wings" from the spacer to the stock mounting holes. I just used some cable ties to secure the x-over to the wiring harness in the door. I also had to play around with the mounting angle to prevent the speaker from pushing off the speaker grill when the door panels were reinstalled.

Default Looks good

Did you have to modify the interior door at all? Does it just fit over top of the speaker?

Did you change anyhthing else and if not does it sound any better?

Thx

No modifications to the door are necessary. I have the Bose system and it sounds much better with just the new front speakers installed.

man, I was hoping I wouldn't have to cut the stock speakers.

How did you screw the kappa's to the stock spacer?

I just drilled into them and used the screws that came with the speakers. You could make your own spacers out of MDF like some others have done. I thought about doing this, but had the doors apart and didn't have time.

I did the same mod and it worked great. (infiniti Kappa separates) Just check it after a month or so, because mine were hitting the inside of the speaker grill. I only found out because they had a slight indentation on the rubber surrounding the speaker cone. You really can't tell by just watching the door go back together. If that happens, you can just use the dremel to shave off the ridges on the inside of the factory grilles.

Well gave in and cut the stock speakers out. Man have to say the kappa's fits great in there. super easy to screw the speaker to the spacer (predrill then screw) I hope that the way you have it in the pic is the right way (meaning that it won't pop the grill off)
And the cool part would be the stock opening on the spacer to feed the crossover cables into the speaker. Man, just wish I hadn't bought the seperate spacers.
