Thumbs up Viper Alarm Installed!

I just got the 791XV installed in my car with a few custom options. I got my trunk on aux. and windows up and down on aux 2 and gas door on aux. 3. I love the alarm, great range, very loud! Overall, very pleased with the alarm and recommend it to anyone. Any questions on it please ask, my friend works as an installer for Best Buy.

Hows the remote? When the 791 first came out they were junk. I would hope they've improved over the years.

Does it still only come with one remote? Is it compatible with non LCD remotes? I haven't kept up with these alarms.

Hey what are your impressions on how effective this alarm is? In the last 3 months 3 cars were stolen in my complex by what seems to be professionals...they got into an SRT-4 no broken glass started it up and drove away no one saw anything. So i'm seriously considering getting an alarm just not sure how effective they are. What kind of options are available would you recommend. I'm gonna be doing some shopping/research this weekend. Thanks.

If you can find the installation manual, it'll tell you how to do it. I'll look for mine tonight, and post the instructions if I find it.

I got a free install from Best Buy, because I bought it from there.

They (big box store) include the basic price of install in the price of the alarm. They will NOT sell alarms without install. That is why Viper alarms are so much cheaper on Ebay.

Unless you paid about $250 total for the thing they didn't install it for free!

Does this alarm have a motion sensor as well? Im looking for a good alarm, not in case it gets stolen, but in case anyone is looking to F*** with it....

Its pretty sensitive, Im pretty sure you can purchase a more sensitive motion sensor from Directed electronics/Viper and have it installed into the main box. So far I love it, no new updates really. Its worked well, I have it on 24/7 GPS security as well lol... so good luck stealing it. Its actually not too bad, you can do contracts thru Viper where they monitor your car at all times. I receive text's on my cell, and emails if I am concerned of where my car is. The blue LED is so damn bright, I dont know if it scares people away or attracts thieves.
