I just completed a carPC and I am working on cleaning up the software and I need a background image for the main screen. I have been looking for weeks now and wandering through google images and galleries all over the place and I just can't find the right one. I need something with a Z on it or a girl, or jsut a really nice/cool looking background preferably in 800x600 or bigger that I can evenly shrink to 800x600. If anyone has any suggestions it would help A LOT. Or if anyone has any nice pics of their cars?

Here is what I currently have, but it is kind of too light and you can't really tell there is a Z in the background. (The picture looks better on the carPC screen because it is in 16:9 instead of 4:3. It isn't as streched and blocky. It's like that because the screen is stretched up)

the nissan site has a gallery for each car. You can download the images, then resize them. Also, each country's site has different images, so check multiple sites.
btw, what front end are you running, and what skin?

 

I have been looking through gallaries upon galleries and I can't find anything that would look good in a carPC. most are infront of houses or something. I want it to have a decent background, or no background, just the car. but I can't find anything that looks good. I also looked through nissans site, which is how I got the first picture.

As for the front end and skin. I am using RoadRunner with the CrystalBlue Skin. It is still kind of in Beta but looks and works really well.

 

Yeah, the skin looks sweet....I'm running digitalfx, but nice to have choices

 

What year is your Z? i had one in an '05, but i traded up for an '07 and it cost A LOT more for a clean install on this thing.

 

I have an 04, with 03 cubby
with the 03 cubby, it's like the Z was designed for a carputer install!

Can you post up some pics of your dash in the 07, I'd like to check it out

 

Yeah i had the '03 cubby too. That was so much easier with the like $80 door and $15 finisher....this cost me $150 for the dash piece, $250 for the button assembly, and $85 for the finisher(last one in canada and has been on national backorder in the states for a LONG time). I need to take more detailed pics of all the install but here is the screen.

 

It looks good, but damn, that is pricey. Are those buttons functional?

 

No. I am planning something to wire it to a remote for the PC...but as of now I jsut hooked up the illumination so that the buttons light up when the headlights are on. Looks really nice though.

 

Nice setup, put a carputer in the Z on Wednesday. Here are some screenies of the software I'm running called Shotgun. Color will be changed to match the amber Z color.

There's a gamepad plugin for road runner on the plugins page of mp3car/forums. You shouldn't have too many issues soldering those buttons to a hacked open gamepad.

 

can u tell me where some of the roadrunner skins are? I did an 8.4 touchscreen install at the beginning of the year.
