Default Good amp for w6v2 10"

Can somebody tell me what amp would make this sub sound best it will be a 10" too. Im trying to get buy on a budget of 1k or so for everything. Box will be about 140 sub around 250. Trying to get a good amp for a decent price. let me know what you think would be good to push this the only amp ive used is a jl but they are a little pricey any cheaper amp that will sound almost as good?

i have a 10w6v2 running off a 500/1. works well. if you're not crazy about car shaking bass, you could probably even just deal with a 250/1.

yea it hits plenty hard, even compared to the w7 i had before. there are definitely other brand amps you can look into. i just don't really know much about the quality since i haven't looked into that stuff in a while. there are plenty of audio gurus here that can help i'm sure.

I just got that same subwoofer installed in my Z and it sounds awsome. I have a 350 watt Zapco amp pushing it and in my opinion it outperforms even a 500/1. The sound is much cleaner with plenty of power to spare. I have to turn the gain down because the bass moves my rearview mirror. Zapco is VERY conservative with thier power ratings. Best amps made if you ask me.

ZAPCO = $$$

Great amps but are pricey!

If you aren’t competing as many have stated before a good sound quality sub amp shouldn't be a real concern. Even with sound deadening there is a lot of interior noise when driving around. I’m not saying go buy a Pile amp but any decent named brand sub amp should work for you. I think Best Buy is running sales on all older amps right now to make room for the new ones. You could pick up a Fosgate amp at a decent price from an authorized dealer. Just my 2 cents.

I agree, especially for just a sub. A sub does not pick up the 'colors' that an amp might introduce into the sound. This is why it has been widely accepted that a class "D" amp (typically not as clean as class "A/B") be used for the sub. When it comes to powering a subwoofer, a watt is a watt. What you should be concerned about is build quality of the amp. Just make sure the amp will put out the RMS power rating of the subwoofer at the ohm load you desire.

actually, the sub part i have come to realize does make a difference...

for example, i have done countless systems with good class Ds...

but since i started using DLS ultiamte and refernece series of amps with full high current class AB mono designs, i can definetly tell a difference, often int he same car, same sub, just swapping out the amp.

case and point, went from a 500/1 to a sub channels of a DLS RA50, going from 500 rated on the jl to the 365 rated of the RA50...the loudless is similar, but i can hear a difference in the sub, toanlity, control...etc...

but then again, i do agree for most of the guys out there...they will be happy wtih the normal class D, since they cant sample back to back anyway.

but quality stuff such as ZAPCO is not just about SQ, its about reliablity, and stuff like that tends to heat up less, break down way less often, zapco dealers can go for years with out a dead amp return, try that with stuff like infinity, kicker, mtx, or even jl or alpine heck, i have installed over 75 DLS amps without a single issue yet

but anyway, back to your question at hand...you can try out a lower line JL mono block...they arnet bad...and are cheaper than the 500/1
