Default Help with Inviscord and X50 installation

Okay I got the invisicord today and I understand that I have to slide the yellow pin into the slot with the black and pink wire and the black GND to the black. My problem is I can't get the damn pins to slide into the same slots that the wires are using. What am I doing wrong? Do I need to cut the connector apart? I do slide them into the same slots that the wires are occupying right? WTF am I doing wrong? They won't go in. And yes I've searched and I don't see the solution. If there is a thread out there to address this please let me know.

OKay 20 people viewed and nobody has a solution to this? I know a couple of you guys have done this before. How the hell do you get the invisicord connector pins into the same slot as the wire? There isn't enough room.

+1 it will go in but you may have to give it some pressure. I have the invisicord and love it.

Man it's like a 12" **** star trying to break a 16 yr old. I can try to force it in but I guarantee something is going to break. I put those connectors into a blank slot and they barely fit. WTF? It shouldn't be this hard.

******* GOD DAMN PIECE OF CHIT!!!!!!! I'm so mad at this invisicord crap. I spent over 2 hrs trying to push the pins into the socket and I ended up stripping the wires inside the harness. Motherfcuker I pushed as hard as I could and it just won't go in. There no room to begin with and it appears that the invisicord pins are way too thick to double stuff. Words can not describe how upset I am right now. I don't know how you guys got yours in but mine doesn't work worth a crap.

I just looked the invisicord website and I found this warning:

ATTN: Infiniti/Nissan owners (for FX35, G35, 350Z, M35),
please add the specialized upgrade to your cart! Thank you!

G35, 350Z, FX35 Upgrade
$0.25
The Infiniti G35/FX35, Nissan 350Z mirror harnesses are much smaller than normal, and a special smaller quick-connector has to be utilized. Please add this to your cart as a notification of this special order item.

This warning was not therre when I ordered it. They just updated that crap. Now not only do I feel cheated out of $15 dollars I am even more pissed. At least I know I'm not a dumbass and can't get a simple wire in.

Yeah I just sent them an email. Hopefully they'll send me another one. I mean this thing doesn't cost them more than $5 to make plus shipping. I'm not about to pay $15.50 for another one. It's a matter of principle at this point. By putting that warning up they are saying they knew about screwing other Nissan owners in the past.

I got the invisicord installed with the adapter...and even then it was a very snug fit. I had to push in every corner before the wire would finally find a spot to slip in and remain.

Give them a call and keep us posted.

Same thing here. Only I used needle nose pliers to push the pins in.

BTW, that "warning" has been on their web site for at least a month. It was there when I ordered one.

I saw that warning when I ordered mine 6 months ago. JDM I think you simply missed that on the website since I immediately saw that when I placed my order. I always try to read the print before I make any purchases online so there is not suprises. I hope they work with you on this.

That sucks about getting the wrong connectors..
I have a feeling they'll work with you since you can even send in one you purchased previously and upgrade the length for a nominal charge.

Well...I really don't remember the warning being there but who's to say I didn't miss it? Man I don't know. I guess I did. Right now I'm just mad that I spent so much time on the stupid thing. Chalk this up as a lesson for myself and everybody else trying to order this thing to add the Nissan connectors. Invisicord was nice enough to offer me the correct one if I send them the old one back.

nope, that notice was there. I ordered mine a few months back and I remember being charged 25 cents. You must have ordered it without even reading through the site.

edit: after reading through the rest of your thread, I realize how pointless my post was

Not to counter, but the warning WAS there when I ordered 2 weeks ago. It has been on the site for months. You need the thinner pins otherwise you will never get them to go in.

You could try sanding them down a little or just email the site owner and explain. I'm sure he will send out a new one once you send the other back. Hope you did not bend the pins.

I have it on my V1 and love it. No Z mount — not a fan.

Just tap the wire into each other.
