You will need to build an enclosure for it. There are much better options. Search for a product called the "zenclosure" on ebay.

I have an Infiniti Basslink in the stock sub location, because I did not have the Bose system. I like the amount of bass it puts out and doesn't take up any extra room in my hatch.

Worst place ever to put a sub is the stock location. Myself and many others had to spend extra money to move it to the back in the corner, spare, or under strut like me.

You will thank me later.

As long as you build an enclosure for it in the stock location I don't see why it would be so bad... If you just left it "free air" then it would suck, but an enclosure would make it nice since you wouldnt be losing anymore storage space.. Plus since the frequency range of a subwoofer is non-directional, you dont have to worry about it not be centered in the rear or anything like that.. I dunno, just my two cents... You will however need to know how to fiberglass to build the enclosure since there is nothing already out there premade that I know of.. So if you are just looking for ease of use and dont care about storage loss, then the Zenclosure is the best bet, just as someone mentioned above... Hope that helps.

You can check out Nazar's website. They make the fiberenclosures that fit in the stock sub-location and pass glove box location. Nazar (wickadcas) also make really nice doorpods and other type enclosures for our Z. Nazar is a member on this site, I am sure you can send him a PM and he will answer any question you might have...
