I just had a ED components and two ED kv.10s w/ ED nine.2 + nine.2x installed with a good panasonic HU . I used 4 gauge wire and all the other goodies. When I play my music really loud the sound would suddenly sound muffled . Its definitely playing but it seems like all the highs would suddenly go off. Anyone know what could cause this?

 

Blown speakers? Not enough room for the excursion where they're mounted? A connection that's a little loose?

 

turn down the volume, is it clipping?

 

no clipping at all...like the vocals would sound muffled all of a sudden.

 

Could be a crossover issue or a safety issue that the tweeters will cut off if they receive too much voltage.

 

hmm..my crossover is set to 3 ohm max ... I guess ill try take it down to 0 ohm and see what happens.
