Question amp recomendations

i have mb quart rsd216 for front (60-130w) want 1 10" sub and an amp to power all this. The rear speaker will be powered off the deck. Any sugestions on the amp and sub. I was looking at the soundstream 110wx4. Any one know if this amp can run the front speakers and then bridge the other 2 channels for the sub?

I would recommend:

Alpine MRV-F450:
50 watts RMS x 4 + 200 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms

Crutchfield Link: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-HlTymO5...p?i=500MRVF450

I have this amp and it powers:

MB Quart 6.5 component front
MB Quart 6.5 Coaxial rear
Alpine 10" Type-R subwoofer

It runs cool and lots features too... Check ebay for best price..

I also suggest that you get a multi-channel amp. A number of good car audio manufactures make them. If your needs/wants increase in the future you can purchase a separate mono amp for the sub. (That's what I did)

Check out the MTX Thunder4405. Don't let the low wattage numbers fool you.

Good luck,

I was talking to a sales person in a pro audio shop who seemed very knowledgable and he told me if I was to go with MB Quart speakers I'd have to go smaller than 6 1/2 because MB 6 1/2's would not fit in the stock Z location. He said it had to do with Eropean sizing. This was the first I'd heard of this. Since I'll probably be buying online and do not want to have to do any cutting I thought I should check it out here. Have any of you had experience with sizing MB Quart coponents? Do the tweeters fit in the stock location? If the model matters I'm thinking of PSD 216's in front and any coax that would match up nice for the rears.
Any information from you MB Quart fans greatly appreciated
TIA

First off, your MB Quartz will fit in the stock location you just might need to build an MDF spacer to get it right.

Secondly, I'd recommend going with either a 2 channel amp or a 3 channel (unfortunately not too many 3 channels are left). I'm not a big fan of bridging 2 channels off a 4 channel amp to power a one sub and front speakers. I personally like brands such as, PPI, Soundstream, Zapco, xtant, McIntosh, Orion, Arc Audio, and JL Audio.

The biggest thing about an amp(s) selection though to is price and size to help you better. My amp is quite large @ 22" long and costs about a grand but for my Z it was well worth it.

I run an xtant x603 (3 channel) to all my speakers (4 tweeters, 2 woofers and 1 10" sub - all Boston Pro) and I love my amp like no other.

If you want a good bass amp for the sub check out the Alpine MRP-M200. It's about $120 and it hits pretty hard with a great adjustible cross-over. I would recommend putting a seperate amp on your rear speakers since you're not going to want to run the crossover at the same frequency for the sub and the rears. My suggestion for your rears is to go with the soundstream 4 channel and amp your fornts and rears. Grab some alpine speaker crossovers to optimize the fronts and rears to cut out the low frequencies handled by the sub. IMO this is the best way to go.

Default I got da power...

My M-B-Q's are powered by a single Zapco amp.
You can't find them just anywhere but its well worth the added expense!
