Default Bluetooth phone compatibility question

I searched in and out but could not find anything about this, so.....I need to get a new phone and I'm looking for something that I can use with the built-in BT in the car. Does anyone use the LG enV with the factory BT function in the Z? It's not on Nissan's recommended phone list but it DOES have the "hands-free" profile that Nissan says is necessary. I'm thinking maybe the basic stuff will work but not every single small function, which is fine with me.

This phone is at the top of my list now, but I don't want to buy it and see that it doesn't work with the BT at all. Any insight is appreciated.

Nissan has a reccomended list? I thought all Bluetooth was compatible as long as the option is there?
Ive been trying to get my Treo working on it, but I must be retarded cuz its not functional yet. Guess I truly need to read the directions. lol

Just as an FYI for everyone using the Bluetooth option, not every Bluetooth phone will work with the Bluetooth in the car, you might be able to get it to pair but as far as getting it to actually make or receive the calls is another thing, I work for sprint and we have a compatibility guide we use. I can get a copy later and give it to you that might help but it will be with what type of sprint phones work with it but most carriers carry the same phones as we do just a lil cosmetic differences.

Damn Nissan man. Uses all those older phones on there and cant even use a little older version of a Treo. Thats probably why it hasnt been working.

Update: I paired the LG enV (VX9900) with the car last night and it works fine. So even though your phone might not be in Nissan's compatability list, there's a good chance it will still work, as long as it supports the "hands-free" profile.

Sorry to tell you but Treo's are the worst for connecting to bluetooth(http://www.businessweek.com/the_thre...50_proble.html)
Their power management settings even interfere with aftermarket headunits like the Pioneer Avic Z1. Most of the time the carrier is to blame because they disable alot of features to try and corral you into using their over the air pay service for ringtones and wallpapers. I went to an unlocked phone and will never go back.

There are alot of resources on the net you can search for if you cant live without the treo. You just have to decide how much time you want to invest in the search.

http://www.treocentral.com/ would be a good place to start
