Default What amperage fuse do I use for system?

I'm running 2 separate 4ga wires to 2 amps. One amp is pushing out 40 x 4 and the other 300 x 1. What size fuses do I run inline with each of the 4ga power cable? Thanks in advance

You could have run 1 4awg wire for both amps. 125 amp fuse per 4awg wire. best bet is to add up the fuse ratings of your two amps and that is the size fuse you should use. Max watts on one 4awg wire is 1084 watts class a/b, or 1355 watts class d.

if your making 2 ,4 awg runs on power wire
and your asking what fuse to use at the hood battery for each power wire
to protect the power wire

? what are the fuses on each amp

example on my wifes car i run 4 awg to a X2 RF 2 channel on a 12" ported enclosure about 400 watts and amp is fused with a 50 amp

so for that 4 awg i use a 50 amp stinger circuit breaker at the battery to protect the power wire

Both amp fuse ratings add up to 110. So I just put a 110 inline fuse on each of the 4ga wire correct?

No, not on each. Again I would run ONE 4awg wire for both amps.

BUT, if you WANT to run 2 separate 4awg runs (one for each amp) then fuse with a minimum of what that particular amp is rated at (recommended) or not to exceed 125 amps (maximum).

Here is a good calculator to look at to determine wire guages and fuse ratings.
