Default My Polks Rock!

Thanks to the great advice from this forum, I just had speakers installed. This is my first ever car stereo upgrade and I am totally blown away by the sound!

Here's what I put in:

Polk Audio db6500 6-1/2" Component System ($150)

Kenwood KAC-6202 60W x 2 Amp ($129)

Cost for the install was $200. Total cost $480. The guy at 6th Autosound even said he was really impressed with the sound of the Polks! I'm more than impressed. I wasn't going for anything crazy, just better sound for my tunes.

Per the recommendation of my installer, I kept the rears connected, but he faded them to about 20%. They begin to distort around 25 on the stock HU, but by that point, it's really loud. His opinion was to keep 'em, and if I want I can fade them out further.

I'll probably add a sub later and maybe change out the HU, but for now I'm really glad I went with the components first.

Anyone who just wants much better sound, isn't into car audio, and is on a budget, I highly recommend this set up!

You should check out the Polk SR6500's for some really sick stuff. Hopefully I can post some pics of mine later this week. Good choice and glad you like your system, which is the only thing that counts.
