Rock chips... ahh its my Celica all over again
I guess this is the new trend with imports... thin coats of paint. As i was outside to run some errands, i checked my hood only to find a few rock chips on it. I owned a 2001 celica before this car, and it had a HORRIBLE rock chipping problem... had to constantly touch up the hood... Oh well. I guess i'm used to it now :P

its been theorized that this is a common problem with new cars due to a new painting method that is required by law.
if its any conselation, my mothers MB C320(2001) not only has orange peel, but the hood has MANY chips in it. but the best part is, her chips are rusting. all this for a low low price of 42 grand. (pardon my bitterness, but this is the least of the problems on that car, but to list them all would take a whole post of its own)
just dont think the Z or japanese cars are alone in this problem. If you know your going to be doing highway driving, consider a 3M clear bra. it should help a good bit.
