Default Types of Alarms and theft prevention systems

With all the threads about Zs being stolen and broken into...what types of alams are out to best deal with this?

I hear about pagers and kill switches that I'm not up to date on.

I have been driving for more than 30 years, have never used any deterrent device, and have never had a car stolen. (knock on wood)

I wonder what gives with the stolen 350Zs?

Ha, I've had a vehicle broken in to in Baltimore, and I've never even lived on the East coast!

The best thing to do is to eliminate the flaws of the OEM system, check out:

https://my350z.com/forum/audio-and-video/245840-oem-security-system-upgrade.html

That will help prevent people from getting in the car.

You may also want to look in to adding a shock sensor to the OEM system, you can find some posts on here about that.

And on a more serious note, check with your insurance company. They may offer suggestions, and maybe an additional discount.

The stock alarm works good 4 me. Some f..kers tried to jack my rims around 2 am and the car alarm went off. I did'nt know what happen at first ,so I just turn off the alarm... The second day I noticed wierd kling sounds from my ride, and I stop the car and checked. What I found out really pissed me off cause allllllllllllllll lugs on all 4 tires were already loose(couple fell off already). At least they did not get sh.t. I believe there is surveillance security device that u can monitor in and outside of your ride and record it, if u have the $ to spend

The stock alarm will ONLY go off if a door, hood, or trunk is opened. There is no way to set it off by stealing the tires, and no way to set it off without causing noticable damage (breaking the lock mech or a window).
