As many of you know I recently had an sts rear mount turbo kit installed on my 05 5AT Z. I wanted to get an elctronic boost controller for several reasons. First I have a defi boost gauge which is "supposed to be" top of the line. While the gauge itself is nice it tends to read a pound or so high which i don't like at all for obvious reasons. Another issue that I was encountering was that I wouldn't hit full boost in first or second gear only 6psi or so (7.5 psi target). The last thing was that each time i would shift iat WOT the boost would spike anywhere from .5 psi to 1.5psi so this to me was unacceptable.
I thought an electronic boost controller would be the answer to my problems and while, overall i like the AVCR it didn't solve my problems at all. I still don't hit full boost in the first two gears and i'm still getting the boost spikes when i shift. I've researched and the only thing I've come across as a possible solution to the boost spiking is to port and polish the wastegate. Anyone have any experience with this? Also does anyone know of anyway that I can run at 7.5psi through every gear? This is begining to get really frustrating.
