I just noticed it..everything lights up in the car at night except the buttons..like the volume button and stuff..and I know they do light up because it would be stupid to have to feel your way through the buttons in the dark. If there is a way to turn on the radio button lights I would like to know

 

You're talking about the steering wheel controls or on the stock HU itself?

 

stock HU...you know how you're able to see like..your pre-set buttons in the dark..the 1 2 3 4 5 6 7..the seek/volume buttons and what not..i would imagine they should light up..they do in almost every car..mine doesn't. Everything else in my car lights up except the radio itself

Really? I dont have my Z anymore to confirm this but I remembered that the lights do light up on the buttons. Maybe you have a bad relay or LED?

 

If you're talking about the stock Bose system, then yes all the buttons should be back lit when your headlights are on.

 

Hmmm what should I do? Bring it to a dealership to get it checked out? because it's kind of annoying me being so dark

 

If you are still in warranty then yes. If not then maybe get a new HU? Aftermarket maybe? Given of course the issue is with the HU itself.

Was the same in the last 2 x 2006's I drove. Take it back to the dealer. This is a warranty issue. There should be backlighting.

 

mmhhhhh... I'm going to check my radio tonight... I would imagine that the volume has a back light.. I also have a 2006

 

My 06 lights up fine.. not bright, not dim. I don't think its adjustable...only the gauges were I believe. (correct me if im wrong)
