Default Need Help with new speakers!!!!!

Question for all you stereo knowledgable Z owners out there. I just bought (brand new) a set of Infinity Perfect components for my Z. Replaced the front speakers, cause they SUCK, and I thought they were blown. The drivers side sounded very staticy and did not emit much sound, thus I assumed they were blown. 3 days ago (after I ordered my Infinities) I turned the car over and the stock speakers sounded fine. Anyway, I just got and installed the Infinity speakers today. However, the driver's side (same as the stockers) sounds staticy and virtually no sound is coming out of them. Although they could be blown, I thought it was odd that this is the same issue I had with the stock speakers, and BOTH the new Infinity woofer and new Infinity tweeter sounds the same. That would mean that they would both be blown......right? Is it possible the POS stock head unit is sending a bad or disconnected signal to the driver's side? If the speakers are not blown should I avoid using them until I get it fixed as the distortion may damage them? Please help!!!!!

could be the radio but i highly doubt it. check the wiring and make sure the speakers aren't grounding out or touching metal

IF the drivers side is not already damaged, will I screw it up by just changing the balance through the HU away from the drivers side for a week or so till I get around to taking it to a professional?

Need more Info, Do you have a Stock Head unit with out Bose system or with the Bose system?

Haha never mind just read more.

Now you have to realize that the Bose system has a different Ohms then the aftermarket speakers and that maybe part of the problem with your new speakers. Or it could be in the amp of the 4ch speaker witch is located in the trunk area on the left side under the black foam block next to the spare tire.

I know I have a low post count, but I've worked in car audio before. If you do have the bose system, usually the speakers are 2ohm coming off the crappy amp they use. The speakers you put in are 4ohm. This can cause a lot of problems. Usually when it comes to replacing car audio parts, most people just yank everything out and start from scratch. There are ways around the amp, but that definitely does not sound like thats what you did. I would put your stock speakers back in and troubleshoot from there why they sound bad. If the car is still under warranty, drop it back off at a nissan dealership.

True, but i think the bose amps were an odd ohms, like 1.3 or something, somewere between 1 and 2ohms. Heres a link with some info https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....&highlight=ohm
This is the trouble about adding aftermarket to a bose system. Boses system is an Odd ohm rating, like a home system and just F's things up. Like you said most people just dumb the bose system all to gether and replace it with complete aftermarket stuff.

very good link, and if that is the case, I would just replace everything. You'd be surprised on the difference with a good headunit and decent door speakers. Down the road a 4channel amp will make your Z sound like a concert hall compaired to the bose system.

Personally unless you are buying high end bose for your house... its all junk and completely worthless.

it sounds to me like you are still running out of the crappy bose amplifier. Just direct wire them from the headunit. Cut off the amplifier-side of the wiring harness (make sure you cut the right wire), route your new speaker wire from the door to the harness and solder them together. Problem solved, no more amplifier. The speakers should still work...albeit low volume. Now, the wires that you clipped off...solder them onto the new connection that you just made. Should work now if there is no wires grounded from the amplifier.
