bazooka sub replacement question

Default bazooka sub replacement question

i have a 10" bazooka tube and i need to replace the subwoofer that it came with..... can i replace the sub with any other sub? or does only specific sub fit on the tube???? cause i tried to replace the sub with a fosgate and the installer said that it does not fit.... any help will be appreciated.. thanks.

i am pretty sure most subs of the same size will work

The problem with the Bazooka tube is that it's a tube and has a pretty tight mounting. The frame of any other sub-woofer isn't going to have the room to mount inside the tight confines. The other issue which is likely less important is that Bazooka likely has an audio engineer on their staff (ya' think?) that possibly matched the length of the tube to match their selected driver - changing this designed sound is going to greatly effect the Qtc of the subwoofer vastly changing the sound.

If you like the sound of the sub-woofer you're going to have to match the Thiele-Small parameters of the stock driver, and the mounting ... good luck. I would just contact Bazooka for a replacement driver. Here's a source with four hundred Thiele-Small parameters for you to search: http://www.thielesmall.com/
