Default Alpine Type-S SPS-171A

Ok, can I use these components (non-amped) with factory wiring & an alpine 9883? I'm not sure if I would want someone else to route new wires & I'm totally consumed with work right, any advice will be appreciated. I bought these last year & still have them in the box.

This is unreal, I guess since I'm asking instead of telling I get no responses! I bet if I was an audio god like others here, I can have people patronize me.

A.E.S.S., You can use the Comps off the factory wiring. Although,,,eventually you might want to upgrade and "amp" them. You can add an amp running 70 to 75 watts and still use the factory wiring. Anything with more power, I would suggest running new speaker wire. My opinion would be your Comps,,,depending on your budget,,,a decent amp to give the power starved comps some decent juice and just use your factory speaker wire....Just my opinion...I hope this helps

Thanks alot man, these speakers are rated @ 50 RMS so think I will get a 4x75 amp then I will bridge two channels for the sub. I just wasn't sure if the factory speaker wire needed to be replaced. I don't really lsten to music too loud (I'd rather hear the engine sing!) But I do know it is time to upgrade now. Thanks again for your help, I'll post when it's all done!

There is no need to run comps if you don't plan to amp them. If you plan to amp them eventually, for the time being they can be wired to the factory wires just like any other speakers.

I'm leaning towards using the Alpine MRP-F450 to power the amps, maintain the factory wiring & bridging channel 3 & 4 to power one sub. I hope this sounds ok.
