opinions wanted on sub/amp
Well I got my pioneer avic-d3 and infinity kappas up front and polk audio db651's in back and it's missing bass terribly so now I am looking into getting a sub. I was thinking about going with a Infinity kappa perfect 10.1, i'm not really looking for painful bass so I think 1 10" would be enough for me but I don't know much about this so tell me the advantage of 2 10" vs 1 other than loudness and you may sway my decision. I would like to get a zenclosure and was trying to look for amps for it but not really sure what to get. I want to keep this around $500 total but if there is good reason to get 2 subs obviously the price limit will need to go up a little.
This is what I am looking at, please met me know what you think and if you think i'll need a cap or anything for this too.
Pioneer kappa perfect 10.1 - 129.95 (ebay, free shipping)
Alpine MRP-M650 - 182.00 (ebay, incl. shipping)
Zenclosure - 140.00 (ebay, incl. shipping)
Wiring kit?? like 60-80 i think? not really sure about this.

There is no need to get 2 10s in the Z if you don't want it really loud. I have had 2 10s, 2 12s, three different 1 12 setups, and 2 different 1 10 setups ranging from 400-1800 watts and the 400 watts on 1 10 was plenty loud. Right now I am running 1 ID 10 on 600 watts and it is really loud.
That amp is great...I am installing it in a friend's car this weekend...as for the sub, it is good but you can get a sub just as good much cheaper or better for the same price.
better - Alpine Type R
just as good - Kicker Comp VR 2005 model from sonicelectonix.com
Look for a Kicker CK4 amp kit.

Thanks a lot for the input, just as a side note which i should have mentioned in my first post, the majority of music that i listen to is rock, some hardcore stuff and some older stuff like VH, so I want something with clean sound which i heard really good things about the sq of the perfect 10.1 so that was why i was looking at that. I was told that sensitivity was a big factor in sq and i noticed the type R alpine was only 85db whereas the 10.1 is 94db, is what i heard true or did the guy not know what he was talking about?
well after reading a bunch of reviews of the alpine type r sub i decided to go for that one, after talking to my friend whose bro had the perfect 10.1 in his car he said it's not really a great sub for deep bass which i plan on playing some r&b/rap too so I figured i would give the type r a try and see how it goes, i also decided to buy an amp for my front speakers so that should help some, they were starting to distort at about 3/4 volume so hopefully amping them will fix that.
everything is bought (minus the alpine amp which i am getting soon enough) and this is what i ended up going with:
Boss Audio CAP25BK 2 farad capacitor
Alpine SWR-1042D sub
Pioneer GM-3200T speaker amp
Kicker 05CK44 wiring kit
zenclosures 1-10" sub box
opinions? obviously too late to change things but just wondering how that sounds to you guys.
