Just Speakers with Bose??
Sorry if this is painfully obvious to everyone else, but has anyone just replaced the speakers alone with the BOSE system???
I've read most every post in here but can't remember if this was actually possible with the funky Ohm ratings.
Thanks. Andy

i dont remember the ohm rating on the Z's Bose system. But here is your answer:
Aftermarket speakers will mostly likely be 4 ohms.
A. If the Bose are less than 4 (2 or even 1 ohm) the aftermarkets will not play as loud. (depends on sensitivity as well)
B. If the Bose are 4 - 6 ohms, then you should be fine.
C. If the Bose are >6 ohms, you might blow your amps by placing a 4 ohm speakere there. Draws more current = more heat)

Last week I replaced just the door speakers with Polk EX3560 components I goy on ebay. They play just as loud as the Bose speakers but they sound much better. I can actually hear individual instruments which I couldn't with the Bose. Much more overall bass also, they don't sound tinney like the BoseWhat other posters have said about the front being the soundstage seems to be right. I doubt if I'll replace the rears, I just use them for a little bit of fill.
