2007 Roadster with Integrated Sirius -- DONE
I recently traded my 2004 Touring Roadster for a 2007 Touring Roadster. The 2004 had the PAC audio adapter, because I could not find any info on how to integrate with the Bose. Side note, a family member is an engineer at Bose HQ and contacted the auto division of Bose...no one there knew how and suggested contacting the dealer.
Not that it was a bad setup, but I had no desire to modify the inside of the nav door and cubby (Lots of cutting out the inside shell) to make everything fit (Sirius Sportster).
For the new 2007, I was determined to get the integrated one since it was offered in the coupe. After several different searches on several 350Z forums, I found a little info that I was able to use. One person posted on several forums claiming to know what was needed, but never responded to anyone.
Still had no definitive answer. Many references to Grubbs Performance, but I have an issue with none responsive companies. I emailed them several times and they flat-out ignored my questions. While continuing my search I resorted to Google. On the 4th or 5th page I see a site named nissansatuner.com. They also have a new site, nissanipod.com
I emailed the same questions, and within hours I had a response. This site has a custom harness that can be used to connect the Head Unit to the Sirius receiver. Normally you would need the regular 20 foot pre-wire harness from Nissan and locate the receiver in the trunk.
Now for the parts list:
999U7-FrtHarness Front Harness for Nissan/Infiniti Vehicles
999U9-AS006 Sirius Satellite Receiver
999U9-VS003 Sirius Sigma Antenna (On Glass)
There is an excellent article How-To on removing the center console and radio. Was written for the older models of Z, but still applies.
The only issue that came up was with the shorter harness, there was no more than 12 inches the receiver could be placed away from the head unit!!! Of course no space behind the radio or anywhere else in the center console, so I settled for the passenger side foot well at the very front left side under the dash and forward of the side foot vent. After fishing the harness connector thru the center console towards the left side, I placed it behind the carpet connected the harness and Sigma antenna and viola.
If you decide to mount in the trunk as with the coupe using the 20 foot harness, beware that the Sigma from nissanipod.com and others is only 9ft and will not reach the windshield. Grubbs Performance does have an 18ft. for $20 more.
Final thoughts, nissanipod.com was outstanding in answering my questions and the service was scary fast. I ordered it on Friday and received it on Wednesday. Tons of iPod crap as well.
Oh and it works great!

2007 & 2008 "Touring & Grand Touring" come prewired?
If yes then I would not need to buy harness and just buy...
the Receiver & Antenna & connect them in trunk well near spare?

Correct, but only the coupes come prewired. The 2006 and 2007 Roadsters do NOT come pre-wired. I am unsure as to what the 2008 will come with. The coupes DO come pre-wired and the harness is already in the trunk like you mentioned.
If you are getting a coupe definitely get the longer SIGMA antenna from Grubbs Performance, just good luck if you have questions for them. It is 18' rather than 9' which will be need to go from the windshield where it is mounted to the trunk where the receiver is.
I did hear that Nissan was only offering XM, but from what I understand it should not matter as Nissan uses a specification called "N-Bus" to interface their radios to external devices such as Sirius receivers. I believe this to be true as my Titan has a Rockford Fostgate system and has the same Sirius receiver as I bought for the Z.
And yes, if your 2008 is prewired, you only need the receiver and antenna.
Are you installing yourself?
Happy motoring when it arrives. We were going to order an 08, but in August we were having difficulty getting the blue top replaced on our 2004. We ended up with a great deal on a 2007, but problem is we have about a month before I prep it and put it in storage for the winter...just like in the spring when we put the snowmobiles away.

I just found a 07 Grand Touring Black/Orange if all goes well? I will buy it.
With buying the car for invoice + now $1500 rebate till 10/31 I will be set!
I spoke to my stereo shop today & they will supply the Sirius box antenna
+ labor for $350.00 which is what I would pay if I go ahead with 08 order?
They said they will mount Receiver in trunk & put antenna @ back roof or
hatch window? Guess they know what they are talking about
Thanks for all the info you have been very helpful & I appreciate very much!

location of 07 coupe pre-wired sat harness
I have an 07 coupe (touring) with bose stereo (and NAV) which I assume from what I've read has a pre-wired satellite harness somewhere in the back. I've seen several online discussions on where it might be, drivers side, passengers side, in front dash. I'm hoping someone can tell me exactly where it is so I don't have to rip more apart than necessary to locate it.
If anyone has done this or better yet even has photos that would be great. I'm looking to do a clean install with the receiver and antenna out of sight and I'm wondering if it's possible. I've read of the antenna being mounted under the brace bar cover with some success, but still have no idea where the harness hooks up.
**edit**
I actually just found this, based on 2004: http://www.leeparts.com/pdf/2004350zsatrad.pdf
I definitely don't want to mount the antenna on the roof nor cut a notch in the metal. Has anyone gone through this and been able to get good enough reception with the antenna mounted inside near the window?
Thanks!

OK, so based on the PDF link I posted above I dug into my trunk to find the NBUS connector before ordering the receiver/antenna to make sure I had the right parts.
What I see however, is an NBUS connector on the right side of the trunk (similar to figure 14 on the PDF) , that already has an extension plugged into it, however, following that extension it seems to feed the back turn signals or other electrical and wrap around to the left side of the car. It doesn't terminate and there's no place to plug into it with a satellite receiver.
I was expecting to see an NBUS connector that terminated with a connector (per the PDF) and was able to accept an extension or SAT receiver.
This is a new 2007 coupe (Bose + GPS) and I'm the first owner so whatever is there is factory stock.
I've attached two pics, one showing where the NBUS is connected in the trunk, and the second one is where it splits off along the back bumper.
ANY HELP OR IDEAS?
Thanks!
Jerry

Hmm. does anybody have a link to a document describing the actual Sat install process for a 2007 coupe w/Bose? I've invested my time taking apart the rear based on old info and I don't want to waste any more time without instructions, preferably actual Nissan instructions.
Thanks,
Jerry

So I know I hijacked this roadster thread with questions about my coupe but I thought I'd send an update in case someone with a newer coupe comes across this thread.
For the record I have an 07 Touring coupe w/Bose:
The satellite pre-wired connection is in the trunk, drivers-side, back near the taillight. You need to pull all of the junk out of your trunk, and most of the plastics on the drivers side of the trunk to pull out the "trunk box" (nissans term for the black plastic covering the Bose equipment and antenna connection). Under that you'll see the Bose amp, and if you peek around there you'll find the connector cables and a place to mount the satellite receiver.
There's no need to pull open the dash or mess with the head unit as others have suggested (at least with 07 coupe).
I've ordered the receiver but haven't installed it yet. If it's not plug and play from this point I'll update again, but I plan on just plugging it in and hiding the antenna under the strut bar plastic which I've already removed.
