What is the average cost of a 7 in farh screen. I been seeing some for $299. Does that price sound right. Or is it to high?
Can i find a cheaper place. I checked ebay, and one was sold for 220.

OMG, I've heard of people not using the search, but not even reading their own post! Dr Bonz just posted a pic up with the Xenarc screen installed just a few replies ago.

alphared,

I used the search. And i checked ebay, pal. But everyone price was outragious. Ebay seemed a bit high. People are finding them cheaper, without ebay from other post. I know about several different screens you can choose from, that is nothing new, which is posted above. But it seems the price that people are quoting are a lot cheaper than what i am seeing. Alphared, if you have some helpful info, For example, where i can buy a farh between 160 to 180 let me know.

peace

The Xenarc is a better resolution screen and is overall MUCH better quality than the Farenheit. My Xenarc was $550.00 but I use it for a COMPUTER. If you just want a TV screen get the cheaper lower res screen. If you are looking for higer res, you have to spend some more cash.

As I posted above, it fits perfectly in the Nav slot. Scroll up and see the pic. Also, look at this one:

Ah, another proof of supply and demand. When I got my Z back in september I saw alot of them on ebay for under 200. I guess since people said they fit the stock spot everyone started snatching them up. So I guess sellers got wise and bumped up the price back to near retail prices. Try asking those people you seen that are getting them cheaper. Some of the sites that had them for around 200 are all sold out (ie etronics.com). Pretty soon you won't be able to find a Xenarc for price that its going for now. I got a touchscreen VGA one for $475 and Dr Bonz said he got one for $550 (not sure if its touchscreen either). If you still can't find one, might just have to bite the bullet and pay the higher price. Kinda hard to see the price dropping since the 2004 Z are rolling out and people gonna ****** up those screens too.

I got my Xenarc 7" TSV (touchscreen) for $450 shipped (normal price is $550).

It was a father's day special at spysupply. Was gonna post the deal here but couldn't log on.

I would check around the next few holidays (maybe the 4th) and see if the have another special.

I've never seen a 'new' farenheit 7" for sub 200. Back when I got mine (6 months ago), all the dealers had them for $300-350. Ebay had them for about $280.

Hi, I have a question about that TS monitor. I am looking into Navigation. the Kenwood has a touch screen NAV but the separate monitors appear too large. 8 inch one and a new 7
' one comign out but this one has the buttons on side so it would be like trying to install 8 inch monitor. my question is this. Will Xenarch TS work with a touch screen navigator? Your reply will be appreciated. THANKS

Dr Bonz if the Xenarc is $550 and better picture quality than the $200 Farenheit, how does it compare with the $500 Alpine TME-760. Does the Alpine have better picture quality than the Farenheit? Given the price, and fact ive never heard of Farenheit until joining this forum, is it merely another one of those cheap no-name brand LCDs? Is the Alpine worth the extra cash?

Sorry, can't help you there. I don't know anything about the Alpine. All I can say is this screen has a PERFECT picture with no quality issues at all other than the crappy VGA plug in the back. We solved that problem with the zip ties however (see my install thread).

Probably not...

the touch screen has a serial cable (you can get some with usb or use a usb adapter too). It comes with drivers for windows and I think linex too.

I don't know what the kenwood touchscreen nav connector looks like...but I would imagine if was a proprietary connector. Drivers and software is another issue. Check with Kenwood and see if it's an T.S. overlay like the Xenarc....if it's the same size you might be able to use it.

Actually they are both the same size.

Certain models of the Xenarc/Gain screens have both VGA and video inputs. (Mine has 3 RCA and one VGA). Buttons to switch over from one input to another is on the front of the screen and is hard to access after installation...they will have to be relocated.

When u guys say it fits well in 350z, does it mean for both the screen?

Both the Farenheit and Xenarc fit well in the 350z. You will need to take the case off of the Xenarc (which voids the warranty) to mount it in the Z.

TSV normally run about $550. I got mine for $450 shipped on special. There is also a Gain LCD that is about the same product (VGA but with 2 RCA) but with a generic label that runs about $399 plus shipping....search this site....the site is listed here somewhere. Right now it's unlikely you will find it locally in Seattle.

If you want the Xenarc just get the Xenarc. Gain is the manufacturer of the screens. They won't even sell to you if your not planning to distribute them.
