Question iPod and Aftermarket Navigation

Okay guys,

After looking at these forms for a while, I found what I need: USA Spec PA11-NIS, for my iPod interface. I am quite tired of the FM transmitter and this seems like the jackpot.

What I need to know is will this piece work the aftermarket Navigation/Audio system I want to get it. It is: AVIC-D3, which is an In-Dash Navigation system by Pioneer. The link for this product is:http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pn...264980,00.html

I want to know: (1) If mounted controls will still work with this navigation system and (2) If the iPod interface will also work and lastly, (3) Will the system maintain its 6 Disc In Dash capabilities?

If anybody can offer me the valuable information to do this setup it would be great. Sorry for the newbie questions, but I'm very new the Audio/Video scene.. Thank's for all your help guys

The PA11-NIS is designed to work with the factory radio harness. You would be better off buying the Pioneer Ipod Adaptor for the AVIC head unit. This will control everything seamlessly. Sorry, but you will lose your 6-disk changer (more reason to convert all of your CD's to ipod).

If by "mounted controls" you mean the steering wheel controls, yes, there is an adapter that will integrate your steering wheel controls in with the d3.

I would also suggest digitizing your entire CD library and putting it all on an ipod if you are really planning on getting this headunit. If you do that, you can keep the nav disc in all the time and just play music off of the ipod.

The d3 works well in the Z. There are hundreds of thousands of threads about it.
