BTW, just finished the installation completely.

I had the amp rack made at work (they cut the pieces on the CNC table) and they put it together with glue and screws, i painted it black at home just to bite your style.

used pretty much everything and went by the book with everything. you know how i am, a picture ***** so ill be posting those tomorrow or the day after. sounds nice, but its NOTHING like the sentra, even with the bass boost all the way up and the input sens. all the way up it still is not an eyeball rattling experience like the B15. the stock deck really limits the sound output, and since it has navigation i really don't see myself taking it out anytime soon.

Now i have a problem, both airbag lights turned on and wont go off. I reinstalled everything to the tee and i dont know why they are not going away. I probably need to reset the car either with a OBD2 reader tool or using the pedal sequence thinger. I hope.

Let me know what to do about this oh blubbery one.

But yeah the sound is so clean and linear, I love it. I need to play with the Q settings and all that other stuff so I can have it sounding good. Btw, the bass **** installation.

OEM dawg. Just wait, you'll see. That shiite looks like it came from the factory.

well i swung by the dealership today and they reset the ECU and the lights are gone. also tweaked the center frequency (it was at like 20) and moved it up to 80 so now im getting a lot moar bass.

anyways, here's some picz.

The RCA, battery terminals (which i ended up not using cause of all the crap on the stock terminals), ground lug, remote wire switch, and Y splitter for when i upgrade to second amp.

Marine grade grommet for the firewall. none of that caulking gun bs, this is straight up gangster install man.

(i did put some silicone when i was done just in case you never know)

Bass **** installed on the seat heater panel. there was an empty button so i hogged it out from behind with the dremel and took the bass **** out of its casing and attached it.

since i had the exposed PCB on the back i decided to pot it fully with hot melt glue.

amp rack design i stole from you with amp on the bottom

amp on the top

Ground wire all done up and ready to go

there happened to be a hole already there perfectly sized so i sanded it down to the bare metal

attached ground wire.

painted amp rack with flat black rattle can style just so its not wood colored.

hole in the firewall drilled with the grommet installed

grommet location under the battery tray

with the wire passed thru and sealed up

thick *** speaker wire on the stealthbox

10W3v3 you cant handle this puto.

stealth? with black carpet... NOT SO MACH? [/borat]
bleh beggars cant be choosers

amp installed in the rack and in place with all the wires already in place. you cant tell but the amp is turned on. yeah boi. oh yeah you can probably see the most ghetto thing about the install and that's the plumber's strap holding down the rack. i just dont want to hear that thing sliding at all. ever. so for peace of mind i added those there.

Bass **** in place. OEM DAWG. OEM.

Looks great. Question: Any cooling worries with the amp?

its not loud at all man. i have a sentra with a really crazy setup.. in the highway when i turn it UP really loud your eyeballs vibrate up and down and you see street signs all blurry, street lights look like huge lights. its a freaking workout... the Z is about 10% as loud as the sentra. taking it to a metering competition would be laughable at best.

now the sentra is a different story, i have a couple of setups on tow depending how froggy i feel. I'd probably break out the W7's for that.

not worried at all. Ive seen tons of Z's with the amps in the same location and i havent heard of amps overheating. also, keep in mind im using the stock bose radio which must be putting out at the most 2 - 2.5 volts and a completely FLAT curve at all volume levels. that amp will never see thermal proection.

That marine grommet looks like the ticket, I may try to locate one of those to run my 2awg through the firewall if I have to drill. Thanks for the pics!

i tried looking for a grommet nearby but no dice. it was too far away on the complete opposite side of the engine bay.
