Help!: AVIC D3 Not syncing location correctly.
Just installed my AVIC D3 today and went out for sushi earlier tonight so I figured I'd put the GPS to test.
It said my current location was a friends house 5 miles away where I had my navi installed with his help.
Antenna is is on top of the dash board. Wouldn't see why reception would be a problem. DVD disc was in. Even checked to see if the antenna plug was loose.
Anyone else experience the same problem and have a solution?
TIA.

Took it apart for the second time last night so I could tape the antenna wire. Looks like I'm getting 1 signal bar now opposed to the 3 before.
I'm thinking bad antenna or possible wire damage.
Did you check the headunit for a small, pin-hole like reset button. Look around the button trim,,,check inside where you insert your DVD, ect. I would try resetting the unit before taking it apart again. Just my 2 cents.

Not sure if it would fix your problem, but you could give it a try.
in your hardware settings on the D3.. hows GPS reception? Sometimes I have to drive 1/4 a mile after I get out of the garage for it to lock down where I am. If its still off, try modifying your current location then drive around and see how that works.
