Alpine's PDX series is full range class D technology (developed originally by Bang & Olufson). Much more efficient use of power. I have the Eclipse full range class D amps and have absolutely zero light dimming at loud listening volumes. I'm recommending the Alpine to you instead of the Eclipse because Eclipse's 2 channel is only 100x2 at 4ohms, and the 1 channel is only 480x1 at 2ohms. Reviews and my real life listening of the Eclipses are outstanding. Very sonically transparent. I was worried about the class D not being clean enough for components, but they have exceeded my expectations. And everyone I know with the Alpine PDX amps is extremely happy with them. Grand total $605 plus shipping.
Component Amp:
Alpine PDX-2.150
4 ohms: 150 watts x 2 chan.
2 ohms: 150 watts x 2 chan.

thats what I was thinking. Threw me off becuase the Audisons where very well priced over at woofersetc.
I will definitely go with the Audison amp for components
now for the components its narrowed to
JL CS silk (listening to a pair next week)
Kertz middle line components (listening in two weeks)
Diamond Hex (Listening very soon I hope)

I went to a coulpe local stores and they had nothing...
Manager said he would have the JL CS silk series wired up begining of December.
he also reccomended the JL 400.4 amp to power my system. about 500 bucks and it is supposedly able to produce 2 ohm stereo.
It is rated at 75x4 but 150x4 at 2 ohm..... I am just not sure if I will still have sound quality if I bridge the fronts...I was always under the impression you loose stereo and it becomes mono once you do this.
He mentioned how the JL was a very flexible amp and requires very little power.

Rated Power (4 Channel Mode): 75 W RMS x 4 @ 1.5 ohm-4 ohm (11V-14.5V)
Rated Power (Bridged to 2 Channel): 150 W RMS x 2 @ 3 ohm-8 ohm (11V-14.5V)
JL Audio amps are nice quality, but grossly overpriced IMHO.
