anyone have any opinions between these two models?

I installed the Clifford 50.5x for another member of this board. The alarm is like any other DEI alarm, it has the same layout as the Viper 5900 and Python 990 except the brain is slimmer, and the antenna, shock sensor, siren, led are a bit different. It's a good alarm with plenty of programmable features on it.
I've installed a different Compustar for Bing's ride (aka 16psibrick) and it has some innovative features you can't find anywhere else. The installation was friendly but the only dowside is that programming can only be done through dealer support, so you might be limited in customizing,troubleshooting, and warranty. Overall, it's a great alarm with good reception and plethora of features. Really, you can't go wrong with either. If you had to choose though, you might be better off going with the Clifford. In the case you need to replace the remote, you can easily get one locally and use another brand like Viper or Python to work with your alarm.
