For some reason,,,,this thread is turning into "kicking a dead horse".

phat04350z, in your first post,,,you ask if anyone knew of an "amp turn on wire, close to the glove box? YOu would rather ( RATHER being the operat. word). "not have to rip a bunch of plastic out,,and your headunit is already in and you would rather not take it back out",

With that being said,,,we were just offering you suggestions and the correct way of going about your situation. It seems your mind is made up of what you are trying to accomplish which makes this thread and our suggestions useless. I dont mean to sound rude or harsh,,,if taken that way,,,I will be the first to apologize.

Again, good luck and I hope everything turns out great.

I got that info from my absolute favorite car electronics tutorial websites:
http://www.bcae1.com/

(scroll along the menu on the right to the section on "Amplifiers")

That there way lil if any draw on the fuse for the turn on. I know that there has to be something but it terms of electronics its VERY VERY small. Thats a good site +1

You are correct that my question was in regards to using the cig lighter. But this being an online thread as with most people voice there opinion with out answering the question. I am not saying you are wrong in using the blue wire off the h/u, that is 100% correct. I just wanted to know which wire off the cig was the + one.

Do you have a DMM? You can test voltage to see which wire shows voltage with ignition/acc on. Otherwise, for all vehicles, the outer shell of the cig lighter is ground, and the center pin is 12v.
