headunit
amp
4 speakers
subwoofer
You can't just swap out the headunit because the Bose headunit does not have a built in amp.
You can't just use the Bose headunit and Bose amp because the Bose amp needs a 24 Ohm(or something like that) speaker and the NON-Bose speakers are 4 Ohms.
And by the time you pay for all of the Bose parts, you probably spent enough to have purchased aftermarket stuff that will sound way better than the Bose sounds.

so JUST SWAPPING out the non bose headunit with a bose headunit will not work? oh and just to let you know what i have.. i have non bose, oem speakers, eclipse 2 channel amp and a 10" eclipse sub. tell me if that changes anything. and youre saying just by switching out the non bose to bose headunit will not make the speakers function? the reason im asking is, there is a really good deal on a 03 bose 6cd changer and i can use a 6 cd changer, without changing anything else. but if its too complicating, i might just forget about it.

The Bose unit is a pre-amplifier feeding a line level signal to the power amplifier. The power amplifier powers 5 speakers.

^Haha. I used my ipod religiously when I was in Boston (Feet=Transportation). I found an old *** ipod (3G) for the cheap. I had it put into my car and hidden away. I have a 10 gb 3G laying around, but I'm not sure if it still works
