My Non bose headunit is not working as it should, It wont eject the Damm CD, it just clicks and clicks. But my question is will I be able to install a Bose h/u as a plug and play and since my car is an 03 will I need that specific year aswell?

Thanks

You will NOT be able to install the BOSE headunit without all of the accompanying pieces (i.e. speakers, amp, sub, etc) because the BOSE is a whole system and one piece will not work without all of the others.

On a side note, I have my OE non-BOSE headunit from my 2003 if you need one. PM me if you are interested. It's clean, in great shape, everything worked perfectly when I removed it, and I think I left a cd in it when I removed it (bonus for you ).

Yea I know, but I already have installed aftermarket subs, amps and speakers and I like the clean look of the stock unit. Im more into performance than int. looks anyways.

Zboostin,,,,the 06 non-bose OEM headunit will not fit in your 03. The headunit design changed starting in 06. I dont know exactly the changes,,but it has something to do with the corners being more round and such. That is why the dash kits for after market headunits are made for 03-05 and 06 and up. Maybe someone here will chime in and give more detail as to the changes.

You can use the bose HU and a line output adapter [if necessary, PAC] to your aftermarket amps.
The 03 units are titanium in color. From 04 they are black.
To use the 06 + units you must change the center dash.

Default HU, titanium

I have not tried it but I am certain you can get a line converter for the Bose if your amplifier does not accomodate it...
I have been meaning to do it but never had the time..
I have a track model and have the Bose to install...but now I am replacing the interior with 07 components..
looking to trade my 03 Bose or regular HU for 06-07 Bose unit..

The Bose HU has line output.
The sound level will be very low with the stock OEM speakers.
Amp is necessary
You can get line output converters from CCity.BBuy

bose hu will cost ~100

Well if the BOSE head has line level outputs, why would there be a need for a line output converter?
