Advice on selecting a subwoofer
I'm the proud new owner of an 05 Daytona blue touring and need some advice on subwoofer selection. After doing some research I have narrowed down my choices between a JL Audio 8W7, Diamond Audio D610D4 and Polk Audio SR104. I know that the JL is only 8" but was wondering if it would sound as nice or better than the other two listed. I previously had a 10w7 in a JL built box in my previous four seater and felt that I could get by with a sub that wasn't as loud. The sub sounded great but I want to step down the power a bit for this setup since the Z is a smaller car.

My goal is SQ
Looking to push 300-350W to the sub
Mostly will listen to hip hop
The sub will be in a sealed enclosure; most likely a Zenclosure style
My sub budget will be around $300
I'm open to advice within the power level that I'm working with.

I have a Polk SR10 dvc and its great, it hits really hard and clean. I listnen to rap and hip-hop so I can tell you that it works really well but does require more power than 300w, so this might be the limiting factor on this sub.
Ported enclosure would be the way to go if you want more bass with less power...

Of the 3 you mentioned and for the purposes you proposed, I would suggest the Diamond D610. Although being a metal cone it might be a bit too punchy and quick for hip hop. Maybe look at the Image Dynamics IDQ10 v.3

How much power are you running to the sub?
