I had to buy another one. I just like that fact that it's a deep cycle battery. I abuse the battery sometimes by draining it while the car is not running.

my 1 year old Optima Yellow top just went bad, and has been iffy from the start... the car sits alot and during 6 months of winter, but I use a battery tender on it when it sits for more than a week at a time. Either way, the yellow topper I have has a bad cell in it already (about 10.2V after charging it), and if I let the battery sit for more than a couple days without any charge on it, it won't even crank... what a POS. I will be replacing it with something different, like a big Interstate Megatron. I am trying to find the largest battery that will fit in the stock opening without any mods now...

yeah, bought it new... but its a little over a year old, like 13-14 months according to the receipt, so I am screwed... the local 4x4 shop won't help me out, and said its up to Optima, and the customer service tech on the phone at Optima yesterday told me it would be prorated now, b/c its older than 1 year.

I've always been a fan of the Exide Orbital battery. Cheaper that Optima. I've hava few and am deciding between the Orbital or a Braille (just to try something new) for the Z.

Does the battery hold a good charge if car is standing for days or weeks?

I am giving up on my yellow top guys, its too unreliable... I don't know if I just got a bad one, but the local garages tell me the battery tests out fine. I had 2 places check it out... the thing jsut won't hold a charge. Everytime I get in my car, it won't even turn over, and I onl;y drive my Z like once a week... its very frustrating and I need soemthign more rleiable. I have had all I can take with this POS yellow top in there now. I may switch to an Interstate Megatron Plus... i have had great luck with those in the past.
