Default Car Alarm Going Off Randomly

The factory alarm in my car keeps going off randomly, like i was just sitting here watching tv and the car is in the garage and all the sudden the alarm goes off, and the other day i was somewhere, i cant remember where. The car was sitting in a parking lot with nothing around it, and the alarm went off 4 times out of nowhere. Is there a way to figure out whats causing it? or is it a way turn the sensitivity down on it?

start by looking under the dash, it is usually tucked in under wires and ducts to hide it.

Do you have a aftermarket hood??

If so, these hoods usually cause the hood pin to trigger the alarm...

tape the hood switch down, so it thinks the hood is always closed

You can also disconnect the OEM hood switch

Yeah, check hood pin. On some alarms, installers will put shock sensor under hood, if water or moister builds up, it will cause alarm to trigger.
