Question Head unit in Navigation box ???

Hi guys, this is my first post to the forum. Am new to the family I just got a 2003 Enthusiast last week.

The question
-------------
I have the non-bose version and without the navigation system.
Is it possible to install a single DIN unit in my currently empty navigation box?
And will it work together with the my existing non-bose head unit ?

NOTE
-----
The unit that I want to install is "Clarion FB275BTB" it doesn't take CD's but it has bluetooth and accepts SD cards. (Thats why I want to keep my cureent non-bose)

Forgive me if there is a similar question posted. Am new to the forum.

Thanx

There isn't room for in the upper/forward cubby for even a single din device (the space does not have adequate depth).

Just curious... Why do you want to install a second H/U?

Thanks for the reply Spike100.

The reason that I want to use a second head unit is simply because the unit that i want to buy doesn't take CD's but SDmemory instead. Thats why I want to keep my factory CD.

Got it... I think?

Are you adding the Clarion only to get an SD slot?

Hum,,,as Spike100 said,,,there is no room for a single or double din unit in the upper cubby. The stock headunit is not very good (in my opinion and usually gives problems). I would check into upgrading the OEM headunit with a aftermarket headunit that contains all the accessories you desire. This would intell a nice, clean install, provide all options requested. And, you maintain your upper cubby area for storage,,or if you decide to upgrade,,an 03 cubby is perfect for aftermarket Navigation(screen). Just my opinion. Keep us posted and if interested, we can help you step by step. Good Luck!!

I'm not positive it would work, but here's a possible solution:

I have seen people replace the OEM HU with a single-din piece, and used a frame to make a small cubby with the save space. Perhaps you could install dual single-din units? Not sure what the systems look like behind the face plate. A cheap plain CD player above the Clarion piece.
Or just get a cheap Double-DIN that plays CD, takes SD cards, etc...
