I realize the 6620 just came out - has anyone played with this thing?

It seems the D3 is a very popular unit - good/bad?


Looking for opinions... I see alot of Avic on the forums but not so much Eclipse - just wondering if there was a reason.

the D3 seems to be significantly cheaper... the eclipse does some things that the pioneer cant do.. like listen to a CD and access nav on the DVD at the same time.

 

I am not sure if you can change the color of the backlit buttons on the eclipse though...

 

for my money, i think the d3 is best bang for your buck. tho eclipse is a higher end car audio company. the d3's ability to change the backlight color seems to be it's main stand out feature amongst all the other double dins.

 

I had the AVN5435, great unit! However, I sold mine and got the D3, mainly for the ipod use. The new Eclipse is still nice but they need to add ipod video. Thats why i went to the D3. I had the ipc-106 hooked up to it and it sucked. I was going to get the 6600/6610 but the pioneer seemed best ( ipod, BT, USB). Just my opinion. This year I was hoping Eclipse would step it up and add ipod video, but you know you can't beat having 12+ movies w/out using a dvd!

 

is the avn6620 the one that has double dvd player?

 

i think it does. Eclipse is great stuff, just lately they are a little behind in adding new features---US version--- Not in Japan.

 

Get the one you want. I would recommend both, but choose the one that fits your needs. I switched because my wife got me a 60g ipod and when I further used it I found that I could do alot with it. If I did not get an ipod I would have held on to the 5435.
