thought i'd bump this thread to offer a helpful tip... just installed a PAC adapter myself and holy **** it was a *****. in the end i just ran the wire underneath the center console on the passenger side cuz i was too tired to bother drilling or inserting it through the cupholder. but, in regard to this step:
in case anyone runs into this, the nav buttons on an 07-08 are snap-in on the bottom, and held in by two screws on top. the screws are covered by a thin-strip of plastic that snaps in from the top, so insert a razor blade between the top part of the button-panel and the thin-strip of plastic and you can pry the plastic part out, then unscrew/remove the buttons. thought i'd point this out because the 06 metra kit install instructions tell you to "unsnap" the buttons, but on the 07+ unsnapping it will likely break the button panel.
If you're referring to the 2 screws pointed out in step 9 - those were the ones that gave me trouble. In my pics, the piece I would need to remove has all the navi buttons... I couldn't get that piece off. It's possible that I just didn't pull on it hard enough, but I wasn't willing to break it in the process.

I don't mean to dig this up, but...
I have a Gen 4 Nano, stock Bose HU with XM active.
Which of these adapters, if any, will allow me to:
- Control the iPod
- See titles on the HU display
- use my steering controls
- Not F-up my bluetooth in the car?
