Default Angle of front speaker?

I haven't had the car apart to actually take a look yet, but I know many here have seen the door speaker area quite often, is there any wiggle room for a speaker using a spacer to be angled at all? Plan was to just use any basic coax speaker to replace base speaker and to drill out the rest of the dimples in the baffle. I just started wondering, if theres any room to work with between the metal and the door panel, for a speaker to be angled upwards any meaningful amount.

instead of drilling out the holes, use a dremel and cut out all of plastic with the holes and without the holes leaving only the straight pieces in the middle. then use speaker grille fabric to wrap around the cover. then exercise your sewing skills or borrow somebody else's to create a drawstring around the edge of the fabric. voila, no more plastic blocking your sound.

Not sure if you meant it this way, but you might be able to angle towards you (looking directly at the speaker, move only the right side out). I was thinking of doing the this and moving the speaker up about an inch.

^^ Any concern about protection from a wayward clumsy foot damaging the speaker?

simply warn all who enter your car....as simple as telling them to knock their shoes off before they get in

You can leave more vertical/horizontal lines on the stock grill - that should protect the speakers.

This is what I was mostly thinking too. If I bought one of the 1-1.25in spacers, and cut the mounting face at slight angle, to try and aim the speakers towards the center of the car. It might not be able to angle much, but I'll take any minor improvement from the stock location.

Let me know how that turns out. The spacer's thickness might be the key because there's little room to play with on the speaker's left side. How are you going to cut the mounting face? I haven't though of a practical way to make a clean cut without a huge miter saw.

My speakers have been sitting here for a year and I haven't had time to install them.
