Question on adding XM radio to a Alpine deck
I bought a slightly used Alpine ida-x001 deck. But I would like to add XM radio to it as well. Can someone give me advice on what devices I need to buy? I see this tuner on ebay going for extremely cheap, and it seems it's for the older models. Will it work for the newer ones? Per what I have found, Alpine stopped making them?
Alpine XM Tuner TUA-T020XM
Also, please explain to me how this Ai-Net works. If I want to hook up several things do they just daisy chain off each other?

On Alpine's spec list for that unit shows:
"Satellite Radio Ready
SIRIUS or XM, Alpine brings your choice of satellite radio inside your car. Add the KCA-SC100 interface for your portable SIRIUS Plug-n-Play device and get automatic Game Alert and Song Alert services, plus convenient program replay and pause functions."
As far as the Ai-Net goes, on all accessory units they have an Ai-Net input and output to hook up other accessories with...

I have the Pioneer HU, with the Pioneer XM reciever. The reciever package is sold separate. I purchased mine at Tweeter. It comes with the serial port cable and antenna. It's pretty much plug and play. You route and install the antenna. Hard wire the reciever into the car's electrical system, then connect the reciever to the HU, via the serial cable.
Alpine's "Ai-net system" is a fancy name for having the ability to control external devices via the HU. Unlike other aftermarket radios that have a separate XM reciever, and controller keypad also, the Ai-net technology eleminates the separate XM controller.
