I want to get one but I am not sure it can play PS2 Games.

The 20gb and 60gb can play most ps2 games. The 80gb backward compatibility isn't as good as the 20gb and 60gb, but it still can play some ps2 games. The 40gb version can't play any ps2 games at all. It doesn't have backward compatibility.

i got the 60gb and havent had a problem with any of the games not playing yet for ps2

 

i want to get the 40g

 

yeah i have the 80g and it doesnt play like 2 out of 10 of the ps2 games

Naw, look high and low and see if you can still find a 60GB or 20GB PS3. Those ones have the emotion chip in them and can play every PS2 game out there because it basically has a PS2 built with it in. It's going to be hard to find them but call your local electronic stores + ebay
