Question How are you guys mounting cameras inside the car?

First off I've searched google and the forum for info on this and couldn't find anything really good so no flaming please. I've seen several in car videos from a stationary camera. I'm wondering what method people are using to mount these. Any input is appreciated as always.

You will get a MUCH better response from this question in the "Motorsports" section of this forum. The road racing guys are experts at getting good in-car video.

My buddy made a simple one out of metal tubing and some bolds that mounts to his head rest supports on his 240sx. Works fairly well.

Common among guys who do hpde/trackevents/autoX so that they can analyze their driving afterwards.

I've tried 3 DIY camera mounts; The headrest bolt-on one, one than mounted to the floor of the trunk area and the one I am currently using; utilizes a suction cup and mounts to the window on the passenger side.

The suction cup method is only usable if you have a small bullet cam. I have the Samsung SC X300L which comes w/ a bullet cam. It attaches to a 2.5" suction cup used for moving glass using rubberbands. Works great 'cept for when the sun hits the windshiled at the right angle it refects off the dash and then off the glass. when this happens you see images of the top of the 3 gauges being refected off the glass, but only when the sun hits it just at the right spot. Other than that it works fantastic, it's cheap, stable, easy to do and has a good deal of adjustability.

well to be honest... When I first got my car I didn't feel like there was enough videos of different setups or even sound clips of things like different exhausts. For example when I wanted to get my stillen exhaust i could only find one crappy sound clip on the whole internet. So once I got it i decided to make my own sound clip for others who might be in the same situation in the future. The same thing with the turbo kit. There were no good videos of the sts turbo kit out there for me to check out so I'm trying to put a couple out there so others can get an idea of how the kit performs. I'm giving back to the community bro.... get it?
