Default ? for those with Avic & Bluetooth

Were you able to to get the BT steering wheel controls to work? (This may only apply to 07+, I cant remember). I want to use the answer/hang up buttons, but the audio dude didnt set it up. Is it possible/easy?

Thanks

I have a z2 with the bluetooth module and the steering wheel interface. I don't have the factory bluetooth however. I believe that there is no way to use a steering wheel interface to control the aftermarket bluetooth functions on the avics. I may be wrong however. You should be able to program the factory button on the steering wheel to control another function on the Avic. For example you could program the steering wheel interface to be a mode button, preset up or down button, track up or down, mute, etc. I hope this makes sense. I believe they do sell a separate Pioneer steering wheel remote that allows for control of the bluetooth functions.

The part number for the Pioneer steering wheel remote is CD-SR1.

It just isn't possible with the steering wheel interface and with the deck. Here are the possibilities for the Swi-PS.

Of course its the pioneer column only.

Pioneer does this so you have to buy there ugly steering wheel remote. Just more money for them.

The bluetooth adapter for an Avic connects the Avic to your bluetooth enabled phone. Your factory bluetooth connects to your phone. Why get the Avic involved when you can use the factory bluetooth to connect to your phone?

Does the factory bluetooth still work after you put in an aftermarket stereo? I was under the assumption that it was integrated in with the factory radio, and when that went so did the feature. The Avic z2 bluetooth works very well and is quite nice.

What? The factory BT is part of the factory head unit...meaning its sitting in my closet. Therefore you need the BT adapter for the avic to use a BT phone in your car.
