Default Kicker S12L7

So I have a 12 inch Kicker L7 that I had in my previous car. I have been searching through the audio video section and can't seem to find anybody here with one. Are there any boxes available for sale online, or am I stuck with the custom route? Any help is appreciated.

I've seen 10 inch prefab boxes made by zenclosures. I would say going with a 12 would be custom.

My opinion, ditch the 12 L7 and go with a 10 solo X

i would agree provided that he has the electrical to back up the amp that that sub needs

that sub needs at least 1750 to 2250 watts RMS

also that sub would need a custom ported enclosure

if he wishes i can get him a custom enclsoure for either driver

i would also port the L7 not sealed

stuck with custom is great not bad

but yes i do know of about 6 pre-fab -ported - for square

but you will dedicate your trunk

that being said if you are losing trunk anyway , might as well do a custom box

$ 300 delivered

were a pre-fab will be $150 delivered

either way it will take 7-10 days to get the box to your door step from time of payment

I appreciate the input guys. I was thinking the custom route was necessary, and probably a better option anyway, but was curious if there were any prefabs. +1 on the ported, will sound nasty. I have an 1800 watt RMS amp for it, and it sounded real good in the Mustang. I think I'm going to shop around locally, but if I don't like what I hear I'll def shoot you a PM 350zspl. Thanks guys.

I had a 15 L7 in my G20 and liked the sound better than my JL 10w7 in my Z even though the Z is a hatch. Not sure if it is the 15+ (+ being the square corners) or what but it just sounded less forced (hard to explain.) I would love to hear a L7 in a Z.

If you don't need your spare tire you could always get a (thin as specs allowed) standard square box pointing upwards to the rear glass and cover it with the carpet and cut a square out where the sub air would go through and stitch soft some speaker mesh (any local sound shop will part with some for less than $10.) This would be stealth and the ideal location for a sub (even better than under the strut from what I've read on this forum.)

please if you are acutally contemplating purchasing a pre fab , but you are also okay with dedicating your hatch area to an enclosure i can do something very in-expensive

you can wind up with 2.5 after displacement of port and driver

1800 is to much power for a single l7 , they do get stinky with that much power , and i hate to get you a box that will have a square cut out for an l7 when i know it will blow and then your stuck having to load a solox just so cause your hole is square and than 1800 is not enough for a solox

do a circle not a square IMO
